Now Feb 2011, the Aussie dollar is still going strong and is still at around parity with the US dollar making this post still very relevant. Looks like you still need to spend around $850 on the big directories however once they all get added up.

I too received a letter from an American domain renewal group.. I had to stop and think for a moment, then realised it must be a scam so just ripped up the invoice and threw it in the bin .. Like the above written comment they had the right renewal date and all. I am sure many business owners just process and pay the bill not questioning. Thanks for posting this information.

As the owner of 10 different domains, I get these renewal letters all the time. I caught onto it because my register never sends me mail. Everything is electronic. The company that was trying to scam me was called ‘Domain Register of America’. These guys are very tricky because they usually have the correct renewal date. A customer of mine not knowing better once paid them and could not get a refund out of them. Thanks for all the good information

Very informative article. If followed correctly, your WordPress install would not struggle with fatal errors any more. I have tested it and it works OK. I think the default-constants is the key factor in here. Tnx. for sharing useful info. Regards, Ivan K.
